Match report A game to forget.

We identified before the match that there was something strange about the pink ball we had - it seemed small and only two seams. The opposition when asked to compare to thier ball - just said its the right ball and would not let us compare.

Turns out it was a junior ball. It pinged of the bat like a golf ball and as a result we dropped several tough catches while the ball was pinging further than it should. Likewise we had no seam movement due to the lack of seam. If we had a proper ball we would undoubtably performed better in the field on a poor batting pitch.

Batting wise no excuses. However the ball seemed and moved a lot better for them than us due to full seams - while it didnt ping off the bat the same.

Lesson to all make sure you use the right ball!!
