Linlithgow 2 v Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 28 Apr 2018 at 13.00
Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club Lost 39 runs
Match report
Dunfermline & Carnegie slumped to defeat against a strong Linlithgow line up who had no 1st eleven game this week.
Bowling first D&C restricted the hosts to 151 for 8 - with the Honeyfords starring - Martin claiming 4 for 23 and James claiming the wicket of the main batter McNab caught and bowled for 43. Other wickets went to Callan, McInnes and Anwar 1 each.
We were confident we could chase this down on a decent track.
Honeyford and Spreng started off - and put on 21 before Honeyford chased a wide and went for 8.
Spreng went next at 50 - for 26 runs LBW. Murray went not long after for 0. Bruce then went for 26 with the score on 74 for 4.
Miller joined Anwar before Anwar went for 2. 82 for 5.
McInnes went next to a double bouncer bowled for 4. 93 for 6.
Sazz Khan and Miller then put on 13 runs before Miller smashed the ball back to the bowler who accidently deflected the ball onto the stumps running Khan out for 0.
Goody came and went.
Miller then realised he had to try go for it alone with only 2 partners remaining. Turned down an easy singled to keep the strike but then went for the big hit and got stumped on 29 with the score at 112.
No runs were added by Keenan or Honeyford with Keenan being bowled for 0.
James Honeyford goes joint lead on the Duck Pond with Alastair Whyte for a 0 not out. But there were plenty ducks around today!!
D&C let themselves down by throwing away wickets and not building partnerships - the 151 target should have been easily chaseable on this track.
Free week next week before Heriots away the week after.
Thanks to Bryan and James for helping out the ones this weekend.
