Hi All
Happy new year to you all from the Committee of Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club.
We had our first committee meeting of the year last night - and we were delighted to confirm that we have appointed Steve Rowley as coach for both the junior and senior sections for the year ahead.
We would like to welcome Steve on board and now hope he can help lead the club to another successful season at Junior and Senior Levels.
Steve is passionate about cricket and has played for over 40 years. Steve as a player is an all-rounder - opening the batting and a swing bowler. It’s an excellent attribute to have an all-rounder as a coach.
Steve started out playing cricket for Kirkcaldy Cricket club - but is probably better known for his time at Glenrothes. Steve played cricket at Scotland U19 level was also at Derbyshire cricket club. Steve currently is in the Scotland over 40's club cricket team.
Some of Steve’s personal highlights are:
- Playing for Scotland Under 19s
- Winning East League Div 1 with Kirkcaldy in 1984
- Scoring 207 not out V Clackmannan
To add to this - Steve is a qualified coach - and prior to joining Dunfermline and Carnegie has been coaching Under 12's, 10-15 age group up to seniors - so we are delighted with the experience and coaching knowledge he will bring to the club.
Notifications will be out soon on our plans for preseason training etc - Junior training for Under 12's gets underway this Sunday at Queen Anne High School from 12 until 2. All Under 8-12-year olds are welcome to come along - cost is £2.
Best Regards
Dunfermline and Carnegie Cricket Club Committee
