The 2018 Cricket Season is almost upon us - despite the weather trying to trick us into thinking it is still Winter.

Dunfermline and Carnegie are now in final preparations for the new season.

Some quick updates and information for you:

- This may be your first communication from the club website database - this is due to us now adding the junior cricketers to the database - so if you are a parent of a junior player then this email will be coming to you. Usernames and passwords for the website will be based on your childs first and surname - ie JBloggs for Joe Bloggs. I in the next couple of days get the club website to send usernames and passwords out to you so you can access the members areas.

- WEBSITE UPDATE - Hitsports who administer the club website have carried out updates to the site - which should make the site more mobile friendly and easier to use. It has added security features though - so your old password will need updated. So I will get the system to send out a reminder of your username and password - and when you login to the website next time the site will ask you to create a new more secure password.

- AVAILABILITY - Please note all the fixtures are now on the website - for the Junior and Senior matches. PLEASE could members login to the site and update your availability for the season as far ahead as you can. If you know when you are on holiday etc - mark this as unavailable - this will allow us to know which weeks we may be struggling for players and to takes actions in order to either rearrange a game (School hols time) or to do a push to get more players available.

- TRAINING - Cricket training for seniors starts next Tuesday from 6pm at Mckane park - please try and attend training this season - our performances on the field last season showed that our lack of training affected our performance.  Junior training will be Thursday evenings - but more senior juniors are invited along to Senior training if they wish to do so. (Generally if juniors wish to be considered for senior cricket) ALL Stars Cricket for kids 8 and upwards starts in May. More information on training can be found on the club website.

- MATCHES - It is planned that we have an inter club match on the 14th of April - with perhaps a BBQ and a few refreshments (More info to follow) - if we get enough interest we will have 11 aside - or if there are less we will have some sort of competition between batting pairs. There are also friendlies organised on the 20th V Glenrothes and on the 21st V the Wanderers - so if you could update your availability for both the 14th and the weekend of the 20/21st April this would allow us to guage interest - ideally everyone would play one of the friendly matches. League action kicks off on the 27th April.

- FACILITIES - we have invested in the Clubhouse over the winter - which has seen some nice improvements including new doors. We all need to take pride in our club and facilities over the season and ensure this is kept clean and tidy. Gareth and other committee members and members have been working on the practise facilities and other areas of the ground - but will still need help in the run in to the season. If you have the opportunity please keep an eye on the club internal group facebook page - for what Gareth and the committee still need help with. Many hands make light work.

- SUBSCRIPTIONS - Please make life easier for all - and ensure your subscriptions have been kept up to date. Its not fair on those who pay for people to try and escape payment over the year. There are still outstanding dues from last year - please if you are one of those in debt try and pay these asap. 

- NEW MEMBERS - We are trying to encourage new membership into the club and as such have an OFFER on subs for NEW members - £10 per month - equating to £120 per annum which is excellent value for money. Please share the word.

- CURRENT MEMBERS - We lowered the subscription level at the last AGM for current members please speak to the Committee or John Parsonage (Treasurer) for up to date info.
